Christmas afghan
Here's a picture of one of the "snowflake flowers" I'm using to making my Christmas afghan..
It's a textured flower pattern done in green, red and white. I can't wait until it's finished.

For some reason I am just so excited about Christmas this year. Not sure why, maybe it has something to do with having my own place.
I have a Christmas afghan started, but the pattern is giving me grief, so not sure when it'll be done.
So I'm working on some more stockings. Thinking about maybe doing a tree skirt, not sure.
Anyone else getting all situated for Christmas? Of am I just really jumping the gun, lol?

My apartment walls are all bare, all of them. I seriously need to get something to hang up around here.
So, I was looking at these paintings by PunkyArtGirl.
What do you think?

I just spotted this seller on the front page of Artfire and had to share.
The critters are so freakin cute, SavageArtworks does a wonderful job. Check out the shop, there's just too much cuteness there.

Every Friday I set myself a challenge/goal to accomplish for the weekend. Normally, I don't blog about it, but I thought it would be neat to see what other people can challenge themselves to get accomplished this weekend. Mine are:

Well, I'm crocheting away again. I'm using up some really nice specialty yarn I bought a while back, but never used cuz it was just so nice, lol. I have a really bad habit of doing that.
The one on the left is actually purple (stoopid camera). It's a really nice blend, even has Alpaca in it. I was going to keep it for myself, but have decided to part with it....maybe.
Then there's this one. I'm calling it Pink Ice Princess. It's soooooo soft. I have to keep it away from my sister so she doesn't steal it.
In honor of redoing all of my pictures (over 1700 of them to go thru) and redoing my descriptions, I've decided to take 25% off everything in my store until October 1.
Let's see if my hard work makes a difference.

Once again I'm dealing with a health issue. So I'm not able to be around much.
I hope to be back up and running soon. Won't know much until I get to see the doctor.
Sorry.

Ok, here goes. The current problems with my pics are:
1. My camera is 12 years old.
2. I have a crappy cardboard light box.
3. My monitor is almost as old as my camera.
I know, it's now an excuse, I hate it. But it it the truth. My picture taking set up really sucks.
But I am hoping to improve it a little bit.
1. I get to borrow my sister's camera. It's only a year old and takes really great pictures.
2. I'm going to build a newer, better light box. With Muslin and better lighting. (I actually found a great professional lightbox for $40, but can't afford it right now)
3. Well, I still can't do much about my monitor, but I think the other 2 will make a great deal of difference.
I'm just so tired of hearing how my pictures suck. I know they do, but hearing it sucks too, lol. I always try to take great pictures and I do take the best ones I can. But I know that doesn't help me much in the world of online selling.

Unfortunately this was one of the casualties of my move. Ug.
I started playing with my clay tonight for the first time in months, that when I realized it. Any one who works with clay will know what I'm talking about here. Clay just doesn't roll out the same with a rolling pin, lol, it just doesn't.
So now I'm off to readjust the budget again and see if I can fit one in.

Ok, here's the deal. I love to make scarves, seriously.
I love making them, using them, giving them to friends and family. I just love making them. I love figuring out different patterns to make them, the widths, the lengths, everything.
I use to take pics of them on my dressing dummy, but I had to leave that behind.
I have tried taking pics of them on me with a triipod, but those don't come out right.
I have tried taking pics of them laying out, but I'm not sure that's the best way to do it.
HELP!
I have 7 scarves sitting here because I'm not sure the best way to photograph them. Not to mention the numerous ones that are works in progress.

Woohoo! I love the feeling of finishing a new item, it's always so nice.
So, my ripple afghan is about 2 rows and sewn in ends away from being completed. I decided to give you guys a sneak peek at it. Sorry the pics are a little dark, the lighting in my room sucks, lol.
It's huge, big enough for a Queen/Full size bed. And my dad is already eyeing it, lol.
Let me know what you think.

I might be missing for a bit. I'm trying not to be but things are stacking up.
I'm working on 4 afghans right now. I've decided to start offering afghans in twin, Queen and King sizes. So of course, the first 2 are Queens, then a King, and a twin. They're taking a bit to get done, but they're going to be really nice when finished. I just need to finish them, lol.
I started them about a month ago. One Just has a few more rows, another is about halfway, the next about 1/3 and the last just started. So I don't think I'm doing too bad.
I'm going to be offering each design in custom colors and sizes. It's always more fun to do it that way, to make something specifically for a buyer which is exactly what they want.
Hopefully I'll have some new afghans to brag about in the next couple weeks.

I will be getting more interviews up. I want to thank everyone for their willingness to share and allowing me to post them.
Right now, I'm trying to get them all organized, so I'm going to be spotlighting some shops in the meantime. Sorry, things have just been really hectic.
