I seriously would like your input....

Between leaving my abusive ex, being homeless, living with my sister and finally getting my own place. Things have gotten really messed up.

All but a few of my polymer clay working tools have followed me. I've lost too many items to list, including 40+ packs of clay.

The hardest hit was my mask bases. I had these specially made, to support my masks during baking. They cost me $225, they are now gone.

I'm not one to run from a hard situation, but I'm really having a hard time trying to figure out where to start. That's where you, my fabulous readers come in. I'd appreciate your input here.

Next month, I have squished my budget enough to cover $30 worth of materials, I need your advice on what to do.

Answers to my questions are GREATLY appreciated. I always follow my heart, but it's going in a few different directions right now, lol, so input is always helpful.

  1. Would you just buy the clay and let inspiration take you?
  2. What colors would you buy?
  3. Would you make more beads, knowing you have 50+ sets that are still here?
  4. Would you start your "abstract" line, knowing that it suits your taste but not many others?
  5. Would you make odd shaped beads?
  6. Would you finally get off your butt, suck it up, and start putting yourself out there? Showing your sculptures and figures? Knowing that no one shares your taste or style.
  7. Would you just not bother with polymer clay for a while? (Not really sure that could happen, I'm addicted).
Not that I'll absolutely go with everyone's opinions. But I'd really like to hear everyone's opinions.

Especially since I'm stuck debating. At this point, I won't decide on anything, lol. I'm hoping to head in a direction and use that to rebuild what I had.

Thank you so much in advance. I've had this blog for a few years, and you've always been great friends and readers.

A note

I'm running a 35% off sale this weekend if anyone wants to take a peek.

I want to start finding new homes for things, so I can cave to this need I feel to start Making Christmas stuff. Is it too early for that?

Christmas before last, I got hit with a ton of custom orders and couldn't keep up. Then last Christmas I had to turn people away because I was in transition. So this year I want to make up for that. I love working with people and making what they want, it always gives me that warm fuzzy feeling inside, and that's addictive.

Making plans and trying to rebuild

The move in went smoothly. Still unpacking boxes from storage, but I'll get there.

My computer was the first casualty of the move. I got a new one from my dad's best friend (THANKS B). But have no clue how I'm going to pay for this awesome machine that I've been blessed with, my daddy and him won't tell me exactly what I owe. They think that's funny, daddy changes the subject every time I ask. I want to start making payments, B did me a solid and I want to make good on it.

I went through my claying supplies. They didn't fair well in the move either. The clay that I stored is now ruined (not what I was hoping for). And I didn't get to take a lot of my tools with me, to the tune of over $200 in stuff I will have to replace. So any clay work is going to be put off for a while.

On a good note, the crochet hooks I had for over 25 years have now reappeared. I thought they had gotten left behind, but they were in the bottom of the last box I had. I'm so thankful that I found them. It gave me the feeling that everything is going to be ok, my world is going to get back to normal and the way I like it again.

So, I can once again crochet my little heart out. I like that. I can crochet and never have to watch my fingers, they know what to do, leaving me to watch TV or chat with the family.

Been a bit hung up on what to crochet tho, that can be a problem. Then the other day, I started having this major urge to do Christmas items. Is it too early to start doing Christmas items? My heart is telling me to just do it, but then a small voice says it's so early. I love doing Christmas stuff and get overwhelmed every year with custom orders for stuff. Maybe I will go ahead and start, then I might actually be a bit ahead this year.

Sorry for the long drawn out post. I'm just really happy to once again be in a creative friendly environment. And to be able to do what I want, when I want. I can't tell you how wonderful it feels.

Recovering from my move

It's been a real pain. My 59 year old dad and I did it all by ourselves without help. So we could both use some pampering items. Enjoy.

This Healing Therapy Tote from mtmoonlightbe could be just what the doctor ordered.

I absolutely love the scent of Rosemary. This mist from Faith_Works sounds fabulous. I can already smell it.

I could use a little clarity. So this Mental Clarity Aromatherapy roll on from maninthemoonherbs could be just the thing.

PS- If anyone wants to send me any of these fabulous items as an apartment warming gift, all are welcome, lol. Just kiddin'...well, maybe not.
