Smelly, soapy goodness....yummmmmmmm

I'm a huge lover of smelly goodness in the bath and shower. And if it's handmade, it's even better. So here are a few goodies from Artfire's very own SagegoldSoaps. Clicking on the pictures will take you to the items page.

This is SagegoldSoaps Sandalwood Cold process Soap. Can you smell the yumminess? I can already see the soap sitting in the dish at my new place. :)

This is the Cascadia Handmade Cold Process Soap. This is not just soap, it's artwork. These bars are just beautiful and would help make any bathroom look good.

Ok, now take a nice deep breath. Can you smell it? I can almost smell thru my monitor, lol.

So that's this weeks shout out. You should check out SagegoldSoaps. There's plenty of choices and all of them are beautiful.

Ruptured ear drum

Sorry I'm not around a lot right now.

I had a really bad ear infection and then my ear drum ruptured, ug. I'll probably have to spend a few more days in bed before I'm back 100%.

Wow, when your ear is messed up, it really throws off your equilibrium.

Hugs.

Promoting is hard, there I said it *lol*

Well, it's more over whelming than hard. Especially for me, I have to shar the computer/internet with my sister, so I don't get much time on here. Not quality time anyway (I can usually check my email every couple hours).

So when I get 2-3 hours on here, I'm playing catch up.

I have my store to look after. Then this blog. Then there's Twitter, Project Wonderful (which I just figured out), Flickr, Facebook, Myspace and numerous other sites. Not to mention the emails that need returning. I still haven't gotten a lot of things setup yet.

What's a girl to do?

That's why I always seem to be behind on things. I'm sure I'll figure out how to manage it all, that time just hasn't gotten here yet.

Have a happy VD weekend everyone.

I am in love with Thyme2dream

Yes I am. Her items are so wonderful, I wish I could own them all. I really had to work hard to only pick a few of her items to spotlight (they're all so wonderful).

This is her Lothlorien crystal Forest Tiara Circlet. She has many piece inspired by the Lord of the Rings trilogy. They're all so beautiful, whimsical, and very practical.

Oh yes, this ear cuff will be mine, oh yes. This is her Lothlorien Crystal Forest Ear Cuff Wrap. This is my favorite piece. I don't own it yet, but I will. Of course if you buy it out from under me, no worries, please do. I'll either bug her to make me another one or buy one of her other beautiful pieces.

This is Queen Mab's Wedding Faery Circlet Tiara. Who wouldn't feel like a queen wearing this piece of elegance? Tasteful and beautiful. I would be honored to wear this piece if I ever find the man of my dreams.

This is her Fairy Lights Magic Forest Bracelet Arm Cuff. It's simple, yet makes a statement. I've always loved arm cuffs and I have to say this is my fave.

This is the Tree of Life Eleven circlet Headdress. I absolutely love this headdress, I wear it in my dreams. ;) I know a lot of work and heart have gone into this piece. Her attention to detail is perfect, she's truely gifted.

And of course, I have saved the best for last. This piece is so beautiful, I can't even describe it. Not to mention that I think that might be Thyme2dream in the picture. Anyway, both she and the headdress are beautiful. This one is called the Art Nouveau Eleven Headdress. I'ves always loved anything Eleven and this piece is just spectacular.

Ok, I'll stop now, though there's another 5-6 pieces I want to talk about and drool over. I think you get the idea. Check out her work. Message her and let her know what a great job she does. She's an artist and we all need to hear it every once in a while.

Jen

PS- If anyone would like to purchase any of her pieces for me, just email me. This is the one time I'd accept any gifts. ;) I just can't help it.

Internet Window Shopping

I spend a lot of time ohh-ing and ahhh-ing over things I see on the internet. Items I just don't have the money to purchase right now. So, I decided the least I could do for these sellers and there items is write about them.

Clicking on the pictures will take you to the items.

First up is this wonderful necklace by Jinx1764. I absolutely love her shop. She has lots of birdie goodness there, all inspired by her lil Caique, Royal. It was a struggle to find only one item to talke about, lol. She also carries fine art prints of her pencil drawings. Lots of talent there, definitely a shop to check out.

This is a wonderful, hand felted, vegan soap from AurorasGarden. Best of all, it's felted by Aurora's 11 year old son, Tyler. How great is that? Not only do you get a great soap but you get this wonderful little cover that makes it so cute. They also carry other Vegan soaps (including laundry soaps) and clothing. I will definitely be shopping when I get the chance.

So there you have it, 2 really great items from 2 wonderful shops on Artfire. Now go shopping, lol.

I'm a worry wart

Where to start? Lol.

Well, in Oct I left a bad situation. I had been doing exotic bird rescue for 8+ years and we had a flock of 14 birds. Some of them were sent to new homes, some stayed behind and one went with me.

I wish I could have taken them all with me, but I wasn't even sure where I was going or what I was going to do. Finally, my sister said I could stay with her for a few months, but I could only bring one of the birds with me. It was so hard to make the decision, how do you decide which of your kids to bring with you and which to leave behind?

After some thought, I decided I couldn't let my White Capped Pionus go. I was the only person in the world she liked and the only mommy she ever had. Besides, she's quiet and not too big. So Her Royal Highness the Princess Willamina (Willie for short) came with me. More of my birds can been seen on my Flickr account (link is on the left panel).

I thank God I got to bring her with me. She's kept me going on the days I didn't think I'd make it. But she's lonely, she misses her brothers and sisters. And worse, my ex wouldn't give me her cage, so she's stuck in her tiny little travel cage (that was only meant to use for vet visits).

She has free reign of my bedroom and my undivided attention every day, that's the least I can do for her. I'm hoping to get things straightened out soon and be able to get her a bigger cage.

In March or April, I should be moving into permanent housing. I'm thinking about getting another bird to keep her company and give us both a little more of what's normal for us.

Sorry to ramble. Just wanted to talk a little bit about my life.

Hugs.

busy lil bee

Sorry for the lack of updates. I've been really busy.

I'm in the process of making 2 new baby blankets for friends, have 2 other full size afghans in the works, and my White Capped pionus, Willie, has been very needy lately, lol.

I'm just being pulled in so many different directions right now, ug.
